Contact Lens Fitting in North York

Contact lenses are more than a glasses prescription in a different format. They sit directly on the eye, so the right lens needs to provide clear vision while also fitting comfortably and supporting healthy wear. At Optima Eye Care, your contact lens fitting is tailored to your eyes, prescription, lifestyle, and visual goals.
Whether you are considering lenses for the first time, need a new prescription, or are looking for a more comfortable option, our team will guide you through the process clearly and at your pace.
What happens during a contact lens fitting?
Your visit begins with a conversation about how you plan to use your lenses. You may want contacts for everyday wear, sports, special occasions, screen-heavy workdays, or an alternative to glasses. We also discuss your past lens experience, comfort concerns, dry eye symptoms, and vision needs.
We then assess your vision and eye health, take the measurements needed for lens selection, and evaluate a trial lens on your eye. This helps us check how the lens sits and moves, how clearly you see, and how it feels after you blink and look around naturally.
Options for different visual needs
Contact lens options may include lenses for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or presbyopia (the age-related change that can make near tasks harder). Depending on your eyes and prescription, we may discuss daily disposable lenses, reusable lenses, toric lenses for astigmatism, multifocal designs, or other suitable options.
The goal is not simply to find a lens that provides the right power. It is to find a lens design and wearing routine that make sense for you.
New to contact lenses?
If this is your first time wearing contacts, we will show you how to insert and remove them safely. You will have time to practise with support, ask questions, and learn the care routine before you leave. We will also explain your recommended wearing and replacement schedule.
Many first-time wearers are surprised by how quickly the process becomes familiar. A little guidance at the beginning can make everyday lens care feel much more manageable.
Ongoing comfort and follow-up care
Even if you have worn contacts for years, a fitting is a useful opportunity to review comfort, vision, and eye health. Changes in your prescription, tear film, work routine, or general health can affect how lenses feel and perform.
Contact lenses should always be worn and replaced as directed. Remove your lenses and contact the clinic promptly if you have pain, persistent redness, light sensitivity, discharge, or a sudden change in vision.
Book a contact lens fitting
Bring your current glasses, contact lens boxes or prescription details, and any questions you have about your vision. We will help you find a contact lens option that fits comfortably into your day.
